SV Shutters Product Warranty

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. The buyer is entitled to a replacement or refund for a major product failure due to a manufacturing fault(s), and compensation for any loss or damage may be granted at the sole discretion of the supplier. This warranty is in addition to, and in no way limits or excludes, any express and implied rights and remedies under relevant legislation in the state or territory of sale.

Warranty Period

This product is warranted to be free from manufacturing faults leading to product failure for a period of:

  • 15 years for the panel and framing material
  • 3 years for any paint used on the product; to be free of defects, including cracking, peeling, and hazing if cleaning and maintenance instructions are followed. (Excludes any fading within industry standards)
  • 3 years on all internal components, including gearing and louvre pins
  • 3 years for all stainless-steel components used, and 1 year for any other hardware used on the product, such as hinges, screws, and track components

General Conditions

This warranty is the only warranty applicable to SVShutters products. It excludes all other express or implied warranties. No person is authorised to assume any further obligation with respect to SVShutters products.

Warranty Restrictions and Exclusions

The following are excluded from coverage:

  • Surface dirt or stains caused by air pollutants or normal atmospheric conditions
  • Defects from unreasonable use, improper application, or failure to maintain
  • Shutters not cleaned per instructions
  • Damage or misformation from building settlement or structural movement
  • Damage from wind, hail, lightning, accidents, or chemicals
  • Improper handling
  • Altered or repaired shutters (unless by an authorised person)
  • Shutters made without divider rails or exceeding recommended sizes

Procedure for Warranty Claims

To make a claim:

  1. Provide a copy of the purchase receipt and warranty certificate, with:
    – Date of purchase
    – Product details
    – Serial or barcode number
    – Description of the fault
  2. Submit this info to SVShutters via the contact details on the website
  3. SVShutters will investigate to confirm whether the claim is valid under the product warranty or Australian Consumer Law

Maintenance and Cleaning Instructions

The product requires minimal maintenance:

  • Dust regularly or wipe with a damp cloth
  • Use mild water-based cleaner for tough stains
  • Hose external shutters with mild soap to remove salt/pollutants
  • Spray shutter hardware with silicone spray regularly

Note: Stainless steel hinges/screws must be used in coastal areas to maintain warranty coverage.

Additional Notes

  • Warranty does not cover faults from incorrect DIY installation
  • All installations must follow SVShutters’ instructions and guidelines
  • Warranty excludes damage during transit/delivery unless noted upon receipt
